Being a full kilometre from hydro-electric power, Centrix set out to do the unthinkable: build and run a 5,500 square foot custom dream home with all the bells and whistles off renewable clean energy, namely wind and solar. The house sits on an Insulated Concrete Forms (I.C.F.) Nudura foundation, while the timber frame post and beam package was shipped from Lindal Cedar Homes in Washington. Radiant floor heat throughout main living spaces, heated towel racks, full professional level kitchen, whirlpool baths and more, were made possible without the use of traditional fossil fuels. Custom millwork, beautiful soapstone countertops, and even a 10,000 lb. soapstone central masonry heater with bakeoven fireplace/stone oven were installed with every attention to detail.
